Functional Skills ABA Services

What is ABA?

ABA stands for Applied Behavior Analysis. It is a style of therapy and assessment that has proven effective for people with autism as well as other developmental disabilities. It uses a very structured approach to modifying or improving behaviors. It should be performed under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst also known as BCBA and usually the therapy is directly provided by ABA therapists. The focus is to define the motivation for the behavior, identify alternative strategies, to consistently implement those efforts and to shape the behavior toward a desired outcome.

How is Functional Skills ABA different?

A major obstacle for many seeking ABA services has historically been the cost. Functional Skills ABA Services significantly reduces that cost by training selected family and friends to support the program efforts. Therapy by an ABA  therapist is provided that serves to train both the individual in need as well as the family members. This concept keeps administrative overhead and therapist costs at a minimum, resulting in a lower cost service while still providing quality outcomes.
